Chinese contract, Inglis HP, CH1769, A-1579
Description: Standard configuration Inglis High Power, in having a drift adjustable front sight and a tangent sight having gradations from 50 to 500. The left side of the slide has the unmistakable Chinese characters in association with the usual reference markings, this example one of the improved guns with "MK. I*" modifications, the exact slide legend shown in the Inglis Diamond book by Clive Law on page 94. The right side of the pistol shows a fully matching barrel, slide and frame. CH1769 reflects Chinese contract pistol number 1769. Adjacent to these markings are the usual proofs that cut through the parkerized finish. Fitted with black Bakelite grips, lanyard ring, and correct Inglis magazine. Synopsis: Scarce, authorized copy of the FN High Power as made by the Inglis company in Canada during WWII. One of the few surviving examples from the first shipment, with the 6 large Chinese characters on the left side of the slide, that translate to "Property of the Republic of China." Formerly, in the Bill Drollinger collection, and unquestionably one the best examples in existence. Condition: 98+% original parkerized finish, with just the faintest sharp edge wear and staining on the rear sight. Welled up metal around the proof marks, that cut through the parkerizing, corroborating originality. The grip straps are just as good. Comparable condition grips and magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. If you want an example of Inglis' earliest HP production, you are finicky about condition, and provenance is important, this is your chance to buy the best! ~~Insured shipping fee of $155; most packages shipped using FedEx 2nd Day.~~ SOLD Handgun Caliber: 9x19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger, 9x19mm NATO) Manufacturer: Inglis Serial Number: CH1769 Caliber Info: 9mmP |
