Winchester 21 16ga. – TRAP SKEET, FACTORY NEW, BEST WOOD, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Winchester, 1935, 16 Gauge, 6lbs. 10oz., Chokes SK1 SK2, LOP 14", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 9/16" Serial Number: 7210 Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of far superior strength and mechanical design. With only 32,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm sure to appreciate as you enjoy its use. The Trap/Skeet Grade was only produced from 1933 to 1940, so it is a scarce Model 21 grade. If you consider the fact that they made 5 times more 12-gauge guns than 16-gauge guns, and almost 3 times as many 20-gauge guns than 16’s, then a Trap/Skeet Grade in 16 gauge becomes a rare find in a Model 21. From 1930 to 1943 they only made 1034 16-gauge guns in all grades, most of them Standard Grades or Skeet Grades. There could not be more than 200 Trap-Skeet Grade 16 gauge guns ever made, AND THIS IS THE BEST ONE IN EXISTENCE WHEN CONDSIDERING FACTORY 99.5% CONDITION AND THE BEST WOOD YOU WILL EVER SEE ON A MODEL 21. This gun, sn7210 made in 1935, retains 99.5% factory blue on all metal and 100% factory oil finish on all wood and completely documented by Cody Firearms Museum. The gun matches the factory letter exactly. Review the attached documents and you will see Cody shows this gun was in for repair and restoration in 1978 and all finishes were made new by Winchester. Also noted is the oil finished wood and the new #2 Skeet style forearm that has the diamond checkering pattern. Review the photos and you will see the best exhibition walnut I have ever seen on a M21. All stock dimensions, boring, chokes, etc match the letter. WE EVEN HAVE THE FACTORY RECEIPTS FROM THE 1978 REPAIRS DONE IN THE WINCHESTER FACILITIES. This gun has it all; full and thorough documentation, mint factory finishes, the most gorgeous wood, modern dimensions, and mechanically like new. The barrels are tight on hinge and breech face, the ribs are tight, the bores are superb, and the screws and wood-to-metal fit are perfect. The Trap Grade was said to have special attention to boring, chokes, higher stock dimensions, and finish with highly figured wood, and checkered side panels. The “Trap/Skeet” was a skeet choked Trap Grade. What a find this gun is as a 16 bore! We have a Cody Firearms Museum official factory letter ordered for this gun and will be included with the sale. See specifications below. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own this extraordinary Model 21. Keep in mind that WS2 choke is a bit tighter than IC, so excellent bird and clays chokes.
