Winchester was late to produce a side by side, but they sure got it right. This is one of the best built, most respected shotguns ever made in the USA. Made in the year of our Lord 1952, she is in great shape for being 73 years old. The blue is fairly strong, silvered out on edges, muzzles, balls of the barrels, and belly of the receiver. The stampings are very good and clear. The highly figured walnut is simply gorgeous, with sharp checkering and very few flaws. The bores of the 30 inch tubes are also near perfect. She is choked old school, full and full, to knock them ducks down at the longest range possible. The lever resides to the right of center, and ejectors toss the empties with authority. She has a single selective trigger, and the safety is automatic. The hand filling beavertail forearm has the preferred checkering pattern. The icing on the cake is that this is a 3 inch DUCK model, with a Winchester recoil pad, standard. She has drops of 1 ½ and 2 5/8 inches, and an LOP of 13 ½ inches. Remember to add an inch when comparing to 2 trigger guns. This is a real Winchester model 21. An old timer once told me, "Never buy a model 21 unless it says Winchester on the barrels."
