Late 1980's Vintage Winchester 12 Ga. Model 101 Diamond Grade Trap O/U Shotgun w/ 30" Ported Barrels ** VERY Lightly Used & Exceptional Cond

Description:
This is a beautiful all-original and very lightly-used Winchester Model 101 Diamond Grade Trap over and under shotgun.  It features a satin silver engraved receiver, a gold finished single selectable trigger, a glossy hand-cut checkered Walnut stock set with black diamond inlays and a factory installed recoil pad, and a factory gloss-blued 30" inch factory ported barrel set with 2.75" inch chambers, a fixed full choke top barrel and "Modified" screw-in Winchoke-equipped under-barrel, an extra-high trap-style ventilated rib, a white mid-bead and white bead sight, and a jeweled chamber section with jeweled automatic ejectors.  The Winchester Model 101 was first introduced in 1964 to compete against the Browning Superposed and other high-quality O/U shotguns of the period.  Winchester contracted with the Olin Kodensha firm in Tochigi, Japan to make these shotguns, making it the first Japanese-made shotgun sold by an American company.  During the Model 101's production run there were eight grades introduced from the basic Field model to the Diamond Grade.  This Diamond Grade Trap was Winchester's top-of-the-line "regular production" competition trap gun and the last upscale competition Model 101 made by the firm before being discontinued in 1987.  The Model 101 Diamond Grade Trap quickly earned a reputation with competitive and recreational trap shooters as a superb shotgun that was extremely well-made, reliable, and handsome without costing a small fortune.  This particular example was made sometime between 1983 and 1987, as the Winchoke choke tube system wasn't introduced until 1983.  It is in excellent condition both inside and out, and obviously has lived a very easy life being shot very little.  The satin silver factory finish on the receiver is clean and bright with no visible wear, scratches, dings, or damage of any kind.  The gloss-blue factory finish on the barrels is also in superb condition, rating 98% plus with the only deductions coming from some tiny little handling marks.  The original gold finish on the trigger shows the most wear, more likely from not being wiped down properly before storage rather than mechanical wear from usage.  The checkered Walnut stock set is in excellent condition overall, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major dings/dents.  Outside of a few tiny little handling/storage marks in the wood it still looks new.  The hand-cut checkering on the forearm and wrist is still crisp and clean, and the gloss clearcoat finish on the wood is still bright, crystal-clear, and fully intact.  The action of this Model 101 Winchester is slick and in perfect working order.  The action lever still sits to the right of center of the tang mounted safety/barrel selector, and the barrels are perfectly "on face" and lock up tight like a bank vault.  The bores of the 30" inch barrels are mirror-bright and pristine, free from any pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind.  All of the controls on this Winchester work 100% like-new, including the automatic ejectors.  This Winchester still has 95% of it's life left on the wear parts before it will need any service, tens of thousands of shells.   If you have been looking for a classy, handsome, well-made, and reliable Trap shotgun, this vintage Winchester Model 101 Diamond Grade Trap would be a superb choice.
