Description:
Winchester Model 21 Grand American, 12 gauge SxS shotgun with two sets of barrels.
First and foremost, this gun is absolutely “spot on” as to the description on the attached Record from the Cody Firearms Museum.
Ordered on February 26, 1974 this is a 12 gauge Grand American with 30” and 28” vent rib barrels; choked Mod/IC on the 28”’s and F/M on the 30”’s.
The stock configuration slightly favors a left hand shooter thus matching the reversed choke constrictions. Also, of special note on the stock, is the checkering was ordered according to a “sketch” and cut at 26 lines per inch; different from the typical "B" pattern.
Dimensions: 14” LOP over the pad, 1 5/16” DAC, 2” DAH with 1/16” cast for left-hand shooter. The leather covered pad was also a special order per the record.
The frame engraved in a 21-6 pattern with gold and the gold “A” inlaid on the trigger guard. Even the leather luggage case and canvas case cover are as ordered.
In 1983, according to the record, the gun was sent to Winchester to have the wood refinished and to have a new leather covered pad installed.
This gun is 99%+ condition since the wood was refinished at Winchester (per Record) and is a very fine addition to any Model 21 collection.
