Here we have an honest Winchester Model 12 pump shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. The Model 1912 (or as it is more commonly known-- 'Model 12') was Winchester's first slide-action hammerless shotgun. It was designed by T. C. Johnson, utilizing a strong frame and a hidden hammer. The chamber was made longer for the 2-3/4 inch shells in 1927, then later for 3 inch shells. The model 12 is a truly iconic pump shotgun. This particular example has some high edge wear on the metal components and a few light handling marks on the stock and forend. The action is slick and smooth and the bolt locks up securely. The wood is free of cracks or chips....likewise for the butt plate. The 28 inch plain barrel has a good bore, fixed modified choke, bead front sight and a 2 3/4 inch chamber. This fine shotgun would be an excellent hunting gun or an addition to an existing collection or a fine way to start a new collection.
