Description:
A very interesting Winchester Model 12 Trap. The gun has factory Winchester Pigeon Grade wood on it...and that may be the end of what is original to the gun!
Made up for an old Kansas Citian named Ford Simcox this Trap gun was customized by Simmons Gun Specialities of KC many years ago. The "white" vent rib was added along with the chrome magazine tube and hanger; the gun was engraved in a Winchester 12-2 game scene pattern with a Pigeon on the extension and all parts refinished.
I would call this gun unique except for the fact that a year ago I had a five gun set of Model 12's and a 42 all embellished like this gun only in Skeet configuration. A two-barrel set 12 gauge, a 16 gauge, a 20 gauge, a 28 gauge and a .410 bore...all for Ford Simcox. Even more amazing is that this trap gun came from a completely different source!
Mechanically, it is a solid Model 12 with good trap dimensions and the gun is in 95-97% condition since the upgrading.
