Simson (Suhl) ~ Side by Side ~ 20 GA
Description:
The Simson Company was started in Suhl, Germany in 1856 and remained there until 1936. This shotgun was manufactured in the German Democratic Republic and imported by TCCI in Mobile, AL. Gun remains in very good overall condition with an excellent bore. European Walnut has darkened with age but remains solid showing only a few minor scratches, and a hairline crack on right side behind receiver. Wood finish is worn and end of butt is a lighter color. No sanding is visible and may be from a plastic slip-on butt pad. Lock-up is tight and function appears excellent. Receiver has beautiful original case color. There are a couple scrapes on top of right barrel/receiver. This is an extractor gun with a Greener Cross-bolt and all matching serial numbers. DAC is 1 1/2", DAH is 2 1/2". Butt pad has been replaced with a textured black Beretta. Beautiful old gun! 20 Gauge
