Winchester Model 12 Custom Handicap Trap 32

Description:

• Item Condition: Used. Inherited “as is” in 2015. Has not been fired since 2003.  This shotgun should be inspected by a gunsmith prior to use to verify safe operational tolerances and condition.  While it appears in excellent condition this seller is not a licensee nor professional gunsmith and has no expertise as to its warranty of fitness on a firearm more than 75-years old. During my contact with this, this shotgun has been a safe item. Appears a little too nice for me as in afraid to take it out for spin. Wood and abalone are simply beyond the norm as in a true cut above what excellent should be in firearms as art. Knowns:  Was acquired by relative sometime in 1992 and was a clay killer on trips to Catalina and Santa Cruz a few times and then retired as the owner had health issue. Has been in long term storage from 2003 to the present.

• Notes:  Nickel Steel. Simmons rib (in photo).  Owner’s engravable pewter shield insert on toe of stock still blank.  Abalone inlay with darker/lined laminated carved pistol grip cap. Incredible fleur de lis extra fancy cut checkering on most of forearm and burled reliefs. Aftermarket Pachmayr “White Line” recoil pad in surprisingly like new condition. Minuses:  One small area of four finish zingers on the stock toe above the recoil pad (all light and easily refinished about 1.5” x 1” area (wet sanding and strained Z spar.) One small surface chip in burl at stock receiver joint. And one semi-circular scratch visible when the light hits it towards recoil pad (all in pictures). Metal 99% and bluing to match. Light wear on mag tube. 32” full choke b with Simmons vent ribbed barrel has a brilliant and iridescent deep purple-plumb color tone its full length. With the wood as is, never thought of touching it. Top of receiver and rib are uniform flat matte blue finish. Threads all 100% and low ding count on assembly/take down at receiver slide rail contact point. Rib straight and unblemished.
