Parker Reproductions (Winchester) DHE 28 gauge / .410 factory original three barrel set. Consigned by the estate of Tom Siatos, serial 28-01216 (appears on water table, tang, both 28 gauge barrel flats, 28 gauge splinter - 410-01216 appears on .410 barrel flats) is a most desirable combination. BARRELS: Set 1 is 28 gauge (28-inch, fixed M/F), set 2 is 28 gauge (26-inch, fixed IC/M) and the third set is .410 (26-inch, fixed IC/M, three-inch). Features include rust blue barrels with single bead matted ribs and ejectors, color case action (scalloped) and latches, automatic safety, mechanical triggers, rust blue guard with extended tang, AAA-grade walnut (double-bordered wrap checkering, drop points, straight grip, blank initial plate and a skeleton butt plate. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with the longer 28-gauge barrels) is 5.6 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.2 inches, drops are 1.4 and 2.5 inches, and cast off is approximately .25-inch. CONDITION: Seldom fired if indeed at all and almost certainly never taken afield, bores are pristine, barrel sets all on face and all ejectors operate properly. Safety and triggers are crisp. Rust blue is at least 99 percent. Colors have faded to approximately 50%. Wood is 98 percent with trace indications of handling. INCLUSIONS: A leather takedown case with felt interior, makers label, snaps and a canvas cover is present and shows in equal condition to the shotgun. TOM SIATOS (1923-2008) spent the majority of his life in close association with firearms and hunting. His professional contributions, tremendous category knowledge, bottomless enthusiasm and bold personality influenced the firearm industry and outdoor media to such a degree that it remains a viable force today. Tom was the second editor of Guns & Ammo Magazine. As such, he was responsible for the general tone of this iconic publication. A consumate hunter, spectacular all-around shot and true connoisseur of fine firearms, his interests spanned the full spectum of the shooting sports. In 1942, Tom enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in units that scouted and destroyed isolated enemy communication sites on a number of Pacific islands, eventually receiving a battlefield commission. After concluding his service, Tom attended UCLA and then joined the fledgling Petersen's Publishing Company in 1958. A series of promotions led him to become vice president of Petersen's Publishing Outdoor Division which thrived under his leadership. Tom was a mentor, visionary, leader, father figure and a true original. We will never see his like again. A number of other fine firearms from the Siatos estate are offered concurrently.
