A true work of art from a bygone era, this beautifully ornate side by side was made by Baker Gun Company, a firearm manufacturer from the former country of Batavia located within the Netherlands. The company was well reknown for their high-quality yet affordable shotguns, with the Model 1897 being no exception. This shotgun was built to last, with its action still holding strong and its engravings still showing off the guns incredible craftsmanship. This is an Antique double barrel hammer Shotgun has 32" Damascus steel barrels with single bead front sight. The pistol grip stock is checkered and the locks have some minimal engraving. They are also marked BAKER GUN CO. The gun is in nice shape, and bores are clear, with some oxidation peppering. The standard top lever pushed to the side, opening the chambers for reloading. The Shotgun functions well, the ejector presents, and both locks work correctly. The stock shows wear consistent with a gun of this age. None
