Description:
Very tight and well-made Belgian double. 29 1/2" NP steel bbls, proofed for 70mm (2 3/4") cartridges. Bbl blueing is good but showing some age. Carved foliate engraving on the fences, side clips, Greener cross-bolt, extractors. (Despite the Greener claim, Saive patented this closure mechanism). Bore are very clean, R .733 choked .030 (IM), L .734 choked .045 (XF). Stock appears to be an older refinish as there are no blemishes and the hand-rubbed finish is perfect, wood proud to metal. 14.25" x 1.7" x 2.5" thru original hard buttplate, Prince of Wales grip, about .5" cast-off. Some fiddle grain in the comb. Gun weighs 6.75 lbs, would make a fine pheasant or chukar gun with those strong chokes and long bbls.
