Description:
"Fine J.P. Clabrough Bros. of London and Birmingham side by side duck and quail 12 Gauge shotgun. Overall length is 45". The 26" barrels have excellent bores. The barrels have a nice brown Damascus pattern. The locks have most of their case colors. Action has visible case colors. The butt stock is fine with fine, sharp checkering at the wrist and a blank German silver round escutcheon on the bottom. The finely checkered forend is very good. Butt plate is excellent. It features a dog with a duck in its mouth and the circular logo “Clabrough’s Duck & Quail gun Trade-mark". The locks and action are finely engraved. The right lock has a pair of quail and the left has a pair of ducks. The bottom of the action has a pair of quail. The action functions correctly. This is a fine example of a circa 1890 high grade English double shotgun. Note: This is a Damascus steel shotgun and not safe to shoot with modern shotgun shells!
