Description:
Very handsome Goeury sidelock 12 bore game gun made in Nancy, France with crisp elaborate engraving and sculpted oak leave fences. Has all the hallmarks of a high quality double gun: chopper lump barrels, hidden third fastener, side clips, highly figured French walnut with 32 lpi checkering, and a narrow tapered swamped crosshatched rib. It has double triggers, automatic ejectors, manual safety and weighs 6lb 12oz. Presented in its new canvas and leather case.
The 70cm(27-1/2”) nitro steel chopper lump barrels are chambered for 2-1/2” cartridges. Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding 2-1/2” shotshells are being imported by ARMUSA and Game Bore and are also available from RST Shells. The top of the right barrel is inscribed “Fini Par Goeury” and the top of the left barrel is inscribed “Arquebusier A Nancy”. The right barrel is bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.012 for Improved Cylinder choke. The left barrel is also bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.024 for Modified choke.
The highly figured French walnut straight hand stock and splinter forearm flows to a leather recoil pad. The very fine line checkering is crisp. The finish is in very good condition. Stock dimensions are 14-5/8” by 1-1/2” by 2-1/2”. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.
