Parker Repro 20g BHE Grade with Two Sets of Barrels
Description: Parker Reproductions produced a total of 12,269 guns between 1983 and 1989. Out of those short-lived years and some 12K guns, only 100 20g BHE grades were made. The BHE was Paker Brother’s Grade 5, and often featured a brace of dogs on all three sides of the receiver surrounded by a more complex engraving than the Parker Bros. “CHE” or Grade 4. The gun featured here is an example of one of the 100 BHE grade guns made by Parker Reproducitons. Number 20-0060 was built on an “0” frame with two triggers, automatic safety, and case colored action with game scenes featuring a brace of flushing quail on the right side of the receiver, a brace of flushing Bobwhite quail on the left side, and a flushing woodcock in a wooded scene on the bottom of the receiver. The game scenes are surrounded by a full coverage, small scroll engraving and the maker’s name is engraved along the bottom edge of each side of the receiver. Engraved wedges of matching small scroll are engraved on the barrel breeches. The metal's overall condition is excellent with almost all its case color that is only slightly muted. The stock of highly figured American walnut has BHE style checkered side panels, or “church windows” with fleur de lis shaped points. The very fine checkering has fancy, BHE style borders. The butt stock has a 14 11/16” LOP over the factory skeleton butt plate. The butt plate is blued with small scroll engraving that matches the receiver. The stock oval is blank. The gun’s barrels are 28” and marked “Mod” and “Full” on the barrel flats but the choke now measures .003” in the right barrel and .005” in the left barrel, which is more like the Q1 and Q2 chokes found in other Parker Repros. The barrels have the factory machine matted, raised concave rib that is marked “Parker Reproductions by Winchester”. The barrels remain in excellent condition. The gun includes a second set of barrels (s/n: 20-00916) engraved in the same “BHE” manner with wedges of small scroll over the breeches and is also marked “Mod” and “Full” and measures .015” in the right barrel and .033” in the left barrel. Both sets of barrels have 3” chambers and remain in excellent overall condition. The gun is housed in a “VC” lightweight leather case for two sets of 28” barrels that was standard Parker Repro. Case, but it has no trade label are accessories with it. The gun’s condition, both on the metal and the wood, is superb. We will consider selling the second set of barrels seperatly from the gun.
