Description: General Specs: Browning, 1987, 16 Gauge, 6lbs. 13oz., Screw-in Chokes, LOP 14 3/8″, DAH 2 3/8″, DAC 1 1/2″ Serial Number: 20118PR123 While John Browning’s genius created the original Browning superposed it was Mr. Browning’s grandson John Val who travelled to Japan in the 1970’s to supervise manufacturing of the Browning Superposed. Christened the Citori, it joined the Browning line of over/unders Inheriting all the excellent attributes of the original Browning design and then adding selective improvements to aid with modern manufacturing processes. The Citori receiver is milled from a solid block of steel and the chambers are hard chromed lined for longevity. The internal parts are all polished and hand fitted earning the Citori its reputation as a precision fit shotgun. The Citori became a worldwide success on its introduction in 1973. This 1987 produced example, SN 20118PR123 is in 99% factory condition. Chambered in the not-often-seen 16ga. that knowledgeable upland hunters consider the perfect gauge for North American bird hunting. You have a gun that “carries like a 20 gauge and hits like a 12 gauge” and has a larger variety of payloads than with a 20ga. gun. It has an inertial trigger and selectable manual safety, the trigger breaks at 4.5 lbs. The bores are in mirror like condition and are ready for screw-in Invector type chokes- C/IC/M/F are supplied with this Citori, a choke for every season! The Barrel is 28” and has a vent rib. The lever sits way right of center and the ejectors are timed. Weighing 6lbs. 13oz., the gun balances just in front of the pin. It has grade one decoration with a nicely figured pistol grip stock and field forearm with hand cut checkering. It has a few fine handling marks.
