Description: S.J.&D Double Barrel BELGIAN Made Side x Side 10 Gauge Hammer Shotgun C&R “THE INTERNATIONAL” Here we present a Belgian Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun, made circa 1900 by Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin of Liege, Belgium for import to U.S mail order houses. Simonis, Janssen & Dumoulin made and imported many shotguns to American hardware stores, mail-order houses, and gun shops in the United States between 1893 and 1914. This would have been primarily a short and handy weapon that would have been good for riding “shotgun” on a coach, for law enforcement, or the everyday citizen that had a need for protecting themselves and their homestead. The top of the barrels is marked “THE INTERNATIONAL - LAMINATED STEEL”. The actions are strong and tight. Barrels move very little at the face. The bores are semi-bright in good shape. There is a crack at the right wrist that has been repaired and is stable. This is a coach-length, side by side shotgun that has clearly seen some use! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
