Webley & Scott 700

Description:
This is a Birmingham-made Webley & Scott 700. It was purchased from a reputable importer, Victor Chapman, to make sure it was a solid example of the original gun. It has only been worked on by Dan Morgan, a gunsmith in Vermont who is an expert in english doubles. It has 26 inch barrels, 15 1/2 inch length of pull, 1 3/8 inch drop at comb, and 2 3/8 drop at heel.  It has a very slight amount of cast right. Dan adjusted the triggers, sharpened the firing pins and added the butt pad. The LOP is 14 1/2 to the wood butt. He checked to make sure it was tight to face and reported it was near perfect.

It has a good amount of case coloring left on the receiver.  The barrels are perfect condition and the bluing is very good, with minor handling evident.  The wood is also very good with minor handling evident from it being hunted.

This is an excellent example of the Birmingham gun and the prices is adjusted to reflect a repair to the stock.  It was cracked when I fell on it during a chukar hunt. Dan Morgan made the repair. It was both glued and screwed and functionally good as new, but there is wood plug from the drilling for the screw.  It is shown in the pictures and is otherwise invisible.
