Description:
English 12 gauge side by side boxlock non-ejector shotgun made by W. R. Pape. It is chambered 2 ¾" and is nitro proofed at 1 ¼ oz. The 30" steel barrels are choked (FULL) right and (MOD) left. The solid flat rib has a file cut texture with a bead front sight. The action is a secure top lever with double bite and side clips and an auto top safety. The sides of the action are moderately engraved with floral scroll work and the maker's name. The underside is mostly engraved with floral scroll. The barrels are tight on face. There is no rust. The original case color hardening is very faint but visible in low areas and around tight edges. The stock is a checkered capped pistol with a splinter forend and an Anson pushrod. The silver stock escutcheon has not been engraved. Stock measurements length of pull is 14", drop at comb is 1 1/2" and drop at heel is 2", no cast. Serial 13118. Cosmetically this gun shows typical signs of normal use, but overall it's in very good condition. 12 Gauge

Metal Condition: "Barrel finish is worn thin in various places, no dents or deep scratches. Case coloring is faint with patches remaining around edges and inside the trigger bow.
Wood Condition: Refinished with a few left over dings. No gouges or splits.
