Very rare W.H. Monks 8 Gauge Hammer Gun in fine original condition - A 36" barrel Nitro Proved fine conditioned big bore fowler!
Description: Very rare early W.H. Monks of Chester 8 gauge hammer gun with original 36" barrels. Nitro proved!!! Higher grade gun with fine damascus barrels. Action is about 80% scroll engraved. Wedge fastened and point pattern checkered splinter forend. Sidelock action with Jones Rotary locking mechanism. Capped pistol grip buttstock is of fine English walnut and terminates with a modern Silvers type pad. Gun appears all original with the exception of the pad which was a more modern replacement and is beginning to age. Barrels retain most of their brown damascus pattern. Action retains some of its original case color as seen in the photos. Stocks are sound and retain most of their original finish. Checkering is excellent. Bores are mostly bright and shiny. Gun locks up tight. Very rare gun and the only one I have seen from this maker, this early with this length barrels. It is in very nice original shape, too, and fresh to the market coming from an estate collection. This rare gun is priced at $11,500 plus shipping to your home as an antique. Please dont hesitate to contact me at (704) 280-2382 or via PM on this site with any questions or reasonable offers. SOLD Antique: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 8 Gauge Manufacturer: W.H.
