Description: IVER JOHNSON “Excel” C&R .410 SINGLE SHOT Shotgun Auto Ejecting Single Shot Small Game Shotgun! Here we present an “Excel” Single Shot .410 Shotgun equipped with an automatic ejector. This nice little “Excel” is the brand name Iver Johnson used on their more affordable version of the “Champion” model and was produced between 1910 through 1935. It is equipped with a top lever break open design with a rebound center mounted hammer. The .410 shotgun, often touted as a “beginner’s gun” because of its attractiveness to young shooters, is usually lightweight with thin patterns and doesn’t deliver a big charge which could potentially scare away a young shooter. The origins of the .410 go back to the end of the nineteenth century, when farmers shot birds and small game to feed their families. There wasn’t any wing shooting involved here, just pop them wherever they were and take ‘em home for mom to cook. The overall condition is very good. 80% of the blue remains with strong case colors. The markings are clear. The stock is in great shape. The top of the butt pad is chipped. The bore is in very good condition, mostly bright. The action is excellent.
