Antique REMINGTON Model 1889 Side x Side DOUBLE BARREL 12 g. HAMMER Shotgun 12 Gauge Side by Side Hunting/Sporting Gun from the Late 1800s
Description: Antique REMINGTON Model 1889 Side x Side DOUBLE BARREL 12 g. HAMMER Shotgun 12 Gauge Side by Side Hunting/Sporting Gun from the Late 1800s Here we present an antique Remington Model 1889 Hammer Shotgun, manufactured in 1895 in Ilion, New York. One of the nicest late 19th century firearms assembled by the Ilion, New York factory was the New Model 1889 side-by-side shotgun, with its twin, curved “C” shaped hammers. This was the last of Remington’s exposed-hammer doubles, a series that started with the Model 1873 Whitmore “Hammer Lifter” that utilized a European-style, tang-mounted lever to open the breech and concluded with the Model 1889. Though this shotgun isn’t the rarest, it remains a classic example of late-Victorian American sporting shotguns. In 1888, E. Remington & Sons went bankrupt, and, after being purchased by firearm entrepreneur Marcus Hartley and partners, the Model 1889 was one of the first guns to bear the newly reorganized Remington Arms Co. stamp. A total of 134,200 of these popular shotguns were produced between 1888 and 1910. The overall condition is good. Strong action (There is a slight wiggle at the hinge). Bright, smooth bores containing a few spots of pitting near the breech. The stock is solid (contains an above average amount of wear). An even brown patina has matured over both twist barrels. A small hairline crack can be seen on both sides of the wrist at the frame (stable). Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels: 30 inches. Caliber: 12 Gauge Chambers: 2-3/4 inches Chokes: Full / Full Length of Pull: 14-3-16 inches Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1200 #215006 SOLD Antique: Yes |
