Description: James Purdey 16ga bar in wood hammergun with rebounding hammers 30" non ejector Whitworth steel barrels Choked cylinder/cylinder 2 1/2" nitro proof Bores 668/.669 proofed at .662/.662 Minimum wall thickness R: 23/1000 L: 24/1000 LOP 14 3/16 over original heel and toe plates DAC 1 3/8 DAH 2 1/16 Neutral cast 6lbs This gun was built in 1880 with Damascus barrels for a left hand shooter. The triggers are bent for the left hand, the stock now has neutral cast that is suitable for a right or left hand shooter. The gun was rebarreled by Purdey with Whitworth steel barrels at a later date. All specs match the original order sheet seen in the pictures. Bores have some marks close to the muzzle but are otherwise bright and clean Rib name and address are faded but still legible Lockup is tight Stunning walnut with excellent wood to metal fit Beautiful original smallbore purdey hammergun with desirable 30" steel barrels ready for hunting season I have shot doves with the gun and it shoots great!
