Description: On consignment we have a Piotti Sidelock side-by-side shotgun in 12 Gauge. This shotgun features a hand checkered straight grip walnut stock and splinter forend with bare checkered buttplate with engraved fitting and gold inlaid inscription plaque. The sidelocks have intricate relief cut floral scroll engraving over a darkened matted background which extends to the toplever, both tangs, and the triggerguard. LOP is 14.5", DAC is 1-1/2", DAH is 2-1/4". Triggerplate is signed "INC. GRANETTI" for Italian Master Engraver Oscar Granetti. Blued steel barrels are 27.5" with matted solid rib, 2.75" chambers, auto ejectors, and choked at .017" on right barrel and .025" on left barrel. Gun is in excellent overall condition with a very small chip in the wood at the rear of the forend on right side. There is also a light scratch in the bluing on the right breech just ahead of the engraved band. Gun has 1974 dated proof marks. Weight is exactly 6 pounds, 9.5 ounces. Includes takedown hard case.
