PIOTTI KING 2 MODEL 12 GAUGE SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN - 28" BARRELS

28" BARRELS, IC & MOD, 2-3/4", SINGLE MECHANICAL TRIGGER, PISTOL HAND GRIP, RIGHT HAND PALM SWELL, SLENDER BEAVERTAIL FORE-END, LEATHER COVERED RECOIL PAD, 1-1/8" DAC, 1-1/2" DAH, 14-1/2" LOP

Italian made 12-gauge side-by-side game gun. It has 28" blued round chopper-lump barrels fit with ejectors, 2-3/4" chambers, matte, file cut concave game rib fitted with brass front bead sight and choked Improved Cylinder and Modified. The right barrel is roll marked "ACCIATO SIUA U.M.6." while the left barrel is roll marked "FLLI PIOTTTI - GARDONE V.T." The coin finished sidelock action is adorned with fine English Arabesque scrolls bordering the lockplates, in front of the trigger plate and full coverage on the fences and gold-inlaid "Flli Piotti" on each lockplates,. Gold-inlaid Bulino birds on each lockplate and bottom of the action body. Right: Pair of pheasants in flight, Left: Pair of mallards in flight, Bottom: A woodcock flying past a birch tree. There is a gold-inlaid crown on the top lever which is engraved and both sides of the thumbpiece are checkered. Signed "GRANETTI" on the right side of the trigger plate by the engraver. The sidelock ejector action is fit with a single mechanical trigger protected by a right edge rolled engraved trigger guard, disc-set strikers, "SICURA" engraved ahead of the checkered and engraved non-automatic slide safety and a checkered and engraved top tang slide safety. Nicely marbled and figured reddish-brown Turkish walnut stock with pistol hand grip, right palm swell and fine point pattern checkering with borders. A slender beavertail fore-end with an Anson style push button release, matching checkering, golden Piotti crest inlet in the center and a border engraved escutcheon. 14-1/2" LOP to a 5/8 brown leather covered recoil pad, 7 Lbs. 6 Oz. The gun resides in the maker's brown leather trunk case by Nizzoli.
