Parker Brothers DH - 12 Gauge - 28" & 26" Damascus Steel Barrels

Description:
We are offering a Parker Brothers DH in 12 gauge, one of many pieces from the private collection of firearms and outdoors retailer/distributor Lew Horton.
 
This DH, serial number 76837, was shipped in April, 1893.  It has a two sets of Damascus Steel barrels, a skeleton steel butt plate, and a capped pistol grip.  The metal finish shows much wear but does retain some case color with not tarnish or pitting.  There is a chip out of the bottom of the stock (pictured).  Each barrel has single silver bead.
 
The factory codes from the Parker Gun Identification and Serialization Guide match this double’s original configuration as does the Factory Letter, which also lists the second set of barrels as having subsequently been ordered in 1903.  The current LOP does not match the factory letter, although the letter makes mention to the stock being redressed with it went back for to have the second set of barrels made.
