Antique Parker GH Grade Damascus 12 GA Shotgun 1893 #2 Frame
Description: Serial #78164, 12 GA (2 ½), 30 inch Damascus steel barrels with bright, excellent bores choked full and modified. This is the GH model Parker box lock shotgun featuring engraved game scenes on each face of the receiver and scrollwork around the breech built in 1893 on a #2 frame. The classic double is in near excellent condition, professionally restored wood, with the barrels showing strong Damascus pattern with some thinning to grey around the carry point above the forearm. The solid ribbed barrels read “PARKER BROS. MAKERS, MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL". The receiver is mostly in the white with perhaps 10% original case color in protected areas and under the lever, on the water table and under the forearm all having crisp engraving. The trigger guard retains about 50-60% of the original blue finish. The original walnut stock and forearm have been professionally restored to a beautiful smooth finish with renewed crisp checkering and an expertly repaired toe. The correct checkered panel grip cap is present as is the Dog head butt plate which shows an expert repair at the toe corresponding to the wood repair which appears stable. The gun locks up tight with barrels on face, lever resting just left of center with crisp trigger pulls for each barrel which ring properly. It has a 14 inch LOP with drops of 1 ¾ and 2 ¾ at the comb and heel respectively. A beautiful, solid antique Parker that has been expertly restored.
