WWII Ithaca model 37 trench shotgun
Description: This shotgun likely started life as a long barreled sporting gun. It was made before Pearl Harbor and our entrance into the war. I have always fancied that it was an example ,to our Military, of what an Ithaca Trench Gun would look like ( similar to a " trials gun " .) On the bottom of the barrel you can see where the choke designation was changed from 4 to 0. No doubt about it having the original finish. The wood looks more like the 1950s variety to me.because it is " perfect ". Or at least it was never in a war... Sling is marked RIA 1941 You can see that the left side of the receiver is marked with the proper RLB and Ord bomb, as well as UNITED STATES PROPERTY. The bolts in the bayonet lug have been replaced. This weapon would fit great into any collection and I have always been proud to show it off to anyone....I think that you would be too. Thank you for looking. Questions welcomed, Must ship to an FFL or C&R. $50 will cover USPS postage and transfer fee. Insurence can be added. Be sure that you know your state and local laws.
