Stevens WWII 620 trench shotgun 12 GA.
Description:
This is a WWII vintage Stevens 620 Trench shotgun, 12 ga. The serial number 30835, falls into the 2nd block of Military Stevens shotguns of WWII. All visible numbers match. This takedown shotgun retains all of the U.S. military markings on both the barrel and the receiver. I would rate the finish as about 85% or more. The bore is bright and shiny.The stock finish could use some attention, but the wood is solid. The stock also has the cartouche TE, which is the WWII era mark for the TOOELE Army Depot in Utah. I read that one of the functions of the depot there was to upgrade weapons....similar to the post war upgrades that were done on the M1 Carbines... The bayonet assembly may have been refinished there.... The shotgun does retain the Slam Fire feature that was so popular with the WWII G.I.s.. I saw these shotguns in action in Vietnam and the were an intimidating and effective weapon. If you add a 1917 bayonet to it...it is REALLY intimidating !
This is a very nice example overall, of an iconic 3 war weapon unique to the United States Military. Asking $3700. Thank you for looking
