1817 Model of U.S. Flintlock rifle Johnsoin 1821

Description:
 A rare model 1817 U.S Flintlock rifle with an 1821 date and U.S. Middletown lock-pate possibly Simeon North. The lock works good with profuse shower of sparks on the frizzen. The barrel of .54 cal. os 36" long, and has strong rifling with from frosting and fouling,but overall very good for age. The full length is about 51" and has a styeel ram-rod with a brass tip and bot sling swivels are present. The American wlanut wood is good with field service dings. The the patch box opens to find two replacded flints..Top of barrel has proofs of U.S. ,  P , ET.  Slight storage corroision will clean up fine.Opposite side of the lock is still decernable an oval proof mark/.Overall a scarce gun.
