Merkel shotguns made in Suhl Germany demonstrate the famous German engineering, with strength and function always foremost in the design.  The 47E is a graceful, lightweight game gun utilizing the Greener Crossbolt top fastener in conjunction with the traditional double underlug fasteners to give incredible strength and durability to this handsome double gun.  Add the rib extension that prevents lateral movement and this gun has 4 major locking mechanisms!  This fine Merkel 47E, sn388716 built in 2014, retains 99% of factory finishes on all wood and metal.  THIS GUN SHIPPED WITH DESIRABLE AND RARE TO FIND 30” BARRELS, factory choked SK/IC from the factory and having perfect mirror bores and factory 3” chambers.  With its German over-engineering it is fully capable of full magnum loads for your late season pheasants and waterfowl.  With the more open chokes you can even shoot premium steel shot loads or other premium hard pellets like Hevishot (premium loads have full protective shotcups to prevent damage to your barrels) for maximum 20ga. shotgun ballistics. Hard non-toxic patterns tighter than lead pellets. This gun has the best figured walnut I have seen on a Merkel 47E. The model 47E was replaced in the newest Merkel line with the model 40E and it is not anywhere near as nice a gun as their older model 47E.  The 40E engraving is machine done; this gun has hand cut engraving.  This Merkel 47E is a moderately priced, hand engraved, hand checkered classic side x side and will serve your needs and your descendants needs for the next century and beyond.  The gun comes with the original box serial numbered to the gun.  Weighing just 6lbs. 5oz. and balanced just ahead of the hinge pin this is a very dynamic handling gun.  Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate to call.  See the specifications below.  Thanks for looking.
