Description:
Very desirable and hard to find mid-range Lefever EE Grade 16ga made with 28” Krupp fluid steel brls, 2-3/4” chambers, that have matted top rib with small brass front bead. Tops of brls engraved “LEFEVER ARMS CO. / KRUPP” on right and “STEEL / SYRACUSE, NY. USA.” on left. Splinter forearm with engraved clam shell type release is checkered in point pattern. “XX” stamped small gauge frame is beautifully engraved in typical later production EE pattern with Pointer on left lock, Setter on right, both in circular detailed game scene, surrounded by light scroll. Front of lock engraved “LEFEVER ARMS CO.”. Bottom of frame is sculpted and there is wedge of scroll ahead of the trigger plate. The casehardened trigger guard with flying duck in circle on bow, SN at tang. Gun made with nickel plated double triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. The nicely figured capped pistol grip walnut buttstock is checkered in 2 point pattern, has unengraved silver oval on toeline, and terminates with its original lined HRBP.
The gun remains in excellent field used and cared for brls retain about 90% of their toning plum brown original blue. Forearm is excellent and sound with original finish. Locks retain more than 80% of their toning original color. Frame with about 30% of its original color. Trigger guard with traces of color on bow. Buttstock is very good with scattered handling marks. There is a tiny beginning grain separation on left side of top tang and a very small repair to the toe of the buttplate which does not extent onto the wood. Bores are mostly bright and shiny with orange peel ahead of chambers. Mechanics are excellent with top lever right of center.
