The barrels on this .410 Gauge are marked "Western Arms Branch Ithaca Gun Co. Inc., Ithaca, N.Y.", "Long Range Gun". Evidently the Ithaca Gun Company marketed some of their double barrel shotguns at a lower cost under the trade name, Western Arms, between 1929 to 1941. It appears to be the same as their normal Field Grade except the walnut stock is unchecked. The barrels are 26 inches long, 3 inch chambered, and have perfect bores. The American Walnut pistol gripped stock has a 13 inch LOP to a single non-selective trigger. The receiver has the "Ihaca Dog" engraved on both sides and still retains 50% bright case colors. The barrels and trigger guard have 95% of their original blue, and the gun is equipped with an automatic safety. This is a very attractive little double that is prized much less than its counterpart without the Western Arms name and would be a perfect "starter gun" for a beginner.
