Description:
1945 production Model 1911A1 pistol that was manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Company. The slide is marked on the left side with "ITHACA GUN CO. INC. / ITHACA. N.Y." markings along with the "P" proof on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over "No. 2117811", the front end is marked "M1 911A1 US ARMY", with a faint crossed cannon ordnance proof is behind the right grip. The left side of the frame is stamped with a "P" proof next to the magazine catch. The left side trigger guard bow is marked with an inspection mark. The right front of the trigger guard bow is marked with a small "7". The grips are checkered brown plastic with reinforcement rings around the screws. The Ithaca "Flannery" barrel does have some finish remaining and is marked with "F" and "P" proofs on the right and left side of the lug. The magazine is marked "L" on the top "toe or lip" of the magazine. This also come with a very good leather holster marked "US" over "GRATON & KNIGHT CO." over "1943". .45 Auto
