Description:
Serial #6746, 12 GA (2 ¾), 30 inch 'thumbprint' Damascus barrels with bright, excellent bores choked full and full. This is the Model A.J. Aubrey shotgun manufactured by the Meriden Firearms company at which Albert James Aubrey (A.J. Aubrey) served many roles and was eventually President of the Firearms Division at Meriden for Sears from 1908-1916 with 8 firearms patents in his name. The break action, SxS shotgun hammer shotgun is in near excellent condition with beautiful “Thumbprint" Damascus pattern barrels that tone to a thin brown patina and 'ring' with a nice tone. The case hardened receiver retains much of the original vivid case-colors. The checkered and capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, displaying a few minor dings & multiple tiny surface scrapes to the finish with a 14 ¼ inch LOP to an original AJ Aubrey black plastic buttplate that also has the Meriden Firearms Co. listed under a flying duck scene. The DAH is 3 inches with 1 5/8 inches as the comb. A beautiful A.J. Aubrey model that will work well with low pressure loads. FFL or C&R
