The metal of this Birmingham-proofed shotgun retains 92-95% of the original blue finish, with some scattered small areas of mild surface freckling, and some gray fading on the high and projecting edges of the receiver. The engraved markings on the knox-form and left side of the frame are crisp and clear, while the right side has a rectangular grid of faint scribe lines. The walnut forend and nicely figured buttstock are in fine shape with onkly minor handling marks marring the original varnish, and the buttplate has most of the original lustrous blue still remaining. The action is fully functional. These are interesting guns, intended for riot control and police use, and utilized a unique, bottle-necked shotshell.
