Description:
*** SOLD *** Very handsome and somewhat rare Francotte 25E pigeon gun with 30” barrels and factory 2-3/4” chambers. Number 34921 was imported by Von Langerke & Detmold in 1901. This beauty has double triggers, auto ejectors as well as sideclips and dolls head third fastener for strength. Highly figured European walnut stock with swept back Prince of Wales grip and splinter forearm. The engraving is crisp and fully covers the action, fences, and forearm iron. Weight is 7lb 5oz. *** The 30” nitro steel barrels are factory chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid pigeon style rib with hand crosshatching to reduce glare. The bores are bright and shiny and have not been altered. The right barrel is bored 0.737 with a constriction of 0.035 for Full choke. The left barrel is bored 0.739 with a constriction of 0.036 for Full choke. The barrels and trigger guard were recently professionally reblued. *** The pistol grip stock and splinter forearm are made of highly figured European walnut. The length of pull is 14-3/8” over a half-inch rubber recoil pad by 1-5/8” by 2-3/4”. Cast off a little for the righthanded shooter. The stock has been expertly refinished as some point and shows some handling marks and scratches from normal usage. All are easily and inexpensively repairable. *** Francotte 25E’s are a fairly rare grade and sport some really nice engraving. The barrels have not been tampered with and come with factory 2-3/4” chambers.
