Offered for sale is a rare Veloce Grade II only imported one year, 2004. It does not appear to have ever been shot, it is close to new with only some very light handling marks. Made in Italy, with 27 1/2” barrels and weighing only 5lbs. 10oz. it is fast handling and lives up to its Italian name “Veloce”. The blued, chrome-lined barrels are threaded for interchangeable choke tubes, with Full, improved cylinder and cylinder tubes supplied. These barrels also feature a ventilated rib with a white front bead and are chambered at 2 ¾ and 3 inches. This aluminum framed boxlock features a jeweled monobloc receiver, automatic ejectors, a tang mounted auto safety/barrel selector and a skeletonized opening lever accented at the top. This Franchi features a gold plated, single selective, mechanical trigger with a checkered face. The etched game scene receiver show cases detailed gamebirds featuring gold filled inlays of a woodcock on the right side, and a ruffed grouse in gold on the left. The bottom on the receiver features a gold inlay of a pigeon and the etched word “Grade ll” along with the word “Veloce” in gold. The Franchi logo is also prominently featured on the bottom of the receiver. The semi-pistol stock with flat knob is made of nicely figured deluxe walnut with a satin-finish and is accompanied by a beautifully carved Schnabel forearm. The stock has a 14 5/8” length-of-pull and sports the Franchi logo on the flat knob and is fitted with a carved wooden butt plate. A deluxe fitted hard case protects this 20ga to and from the field.
