Description:
A nice old pre-WW1 German cape gun marketed by H. Gotz and Company of the Charlotenburg district of Berlin. Rifle barrel is the 11mm Mauser, known in the US as the 43 Mauser. Rifle barrel is made of steel while the shotgun barrel is Damascus. Rifle bore is gray but has all of its rifling and would look even better with a deep cleaning. The shotgun barrel is actually pitted as is often the case with many Damascus barreled guns. However this 16 ga barrel could handle a barrel insert for the handy lil 28ga. The buffalo horn hardware is in very good conition, no cracks or worm holes. The buttstock is also in very good shape as shown in the photos. The action's covered with period engraving of hunting dogs and scroll work. The consignor of this gun has also provided about 60+ pieces of original brass/ammo for the rifle barrel, and the ammo goes with the gun. The wooden forearm has lost its original edges but there are talented people out there who can replace it. The barrels have platinum bands at the chamber end of the barrel, and the rib is marked "H. Gotz &Co., Berlin C." in what might be gold filled lettering.
Must ship to an FFL as we arent certain when this one was made. Credit cards add the 3% fee. You will pay the actual shipping and insurance to your FFL, we do NOT ship with the post office. We use FedEx. If you have any questions, please let me know.
