Colt Model 1878 12 Gauge

Description:
*REDUCED PRICE*. I lke to collect guns of the "Old West". I found one that is a shooter and a collectible. Shooter being that this Colt 1878 12 Gauge SxS Hammer Shotgun has steel sleeves and the collectible part is Colt manufactured only 22,683 of these guns. SN# 8363. This one was made in 1883 making it 140 years old. Gunsmith inspected and tested with 2 3/4" black powdered shells. 12 gauge and full choked with 28 3/4" steel sleeve barrels. Overall length 45". Bores are shiny with a few light pits. 2 neglible dents- 1 on outer left barrel and 1 on right. Barrel lockup is excellent and tight to face. Original hammers with perfect alignment in set and cocked positions. Firing pins are perfectly centered to both hammers.. Strong hammer springs. Original steel butt-plate. Mechanics are sound. Wood on stock and forend in good condition with minor scuffs which is customary on a gun of this age. The Colt Model 1878 Double-Barrel Shotgun is considered to be one of the finest Shotguns ever made in the United States. ** It is the responsibility of the Buyer to have his own Gunsmith examine the firearm before use of any kind due to the age of the gun**. Will accept Money Order, Cashier's Check, or Personal Check. **Buyer pays actual shipping costs**. Must wait for funds to clear before shipping to buyer barring any State Laws that require shipment of an Antique to an FFL.
