2013 Browning Upland Special Model BPS in 16 Gauge w/ Original Box, Paperwork, Chokes, Etc.
** MINTY & Beautiful 16 Gauge! **
Description: The 16 gauge Browning Upland Special BPS shotgun was first introduced at the 2007 SHOT Show before being added as a regular production option in 2008. However, as of now this shotgun is no longer available from Browning. The Upland Special BPS features a forged and machined steel receiver with a beautiful high-gloss blue factory finish, a 26" inch ventilated rib barrel with Browning's Invector choke tube system (16 and .410 remained standard Invector instead of Invector +), and an English-style straight grip Walnut stock set with a satin finish. This model also came with a silver bead front sight and a tang mounted safety. The BPS models from Browning are somewhat unique in that they are bottom load and bottom eject shotguns, which make them ideal for left or right handed shooters. This design is also quite good at staying clean from outside contaminants, as there is only one open side on the receiver which reduces the chance of mud or debris entering the action. This design makes the receiver extraordinarily strong and the Browning BPS quickly earned a reputation for being extremely tough and reliable, as well as very well-made with lots of attention to detail. Not many modern manufacturers have offered 16 gauge pump shotguns in recent history and we rarely are able to offer them for sale, much less as clean and minty as this beautiful example. This Upland Special 16 gauge appears to be unfired since leaving the factory and has apparently spent it's entire life in storage. The beautiful gloss blue finish rates 99% plus, it shows no handling marks, dings, dents, or scratches. The gunsmiths at Browning did a superb job on the polish of this shotgun prior to applying the high-gloss blue. It really is as smooth and bright as a mirror. The only deduction comes from the bottom of the magazine tube under the forearm. Under close inspection you can see a very small area of faint finish wear from the metal to metal contact from the pump being worked. It is absolutely our opinion that this is from the previous owner and us working the action by hand to feel the smoothness and of it and check the action, as well as to check the bore. The bolt face shows zero evidence of being fired, there is no tell-tale primer ring around the firing pin and zero carbon/unburned powder present in the internals. The bore is mint in this Uplander Special. It is mirror bright with no visible imperfections whatsoever. The classy satin-finished Walnut stock set is in like-new condition and very attractive. The factory checkering is still clean and crisp and it shows no wear or soiling. The factory installed Browning-branded buttplate is in excellent, like-new condition, and was fit perfectly to the wood at the factory. The length of pull is 14 & 1/8ths inches to the end of the plate. All of the controls on this shotgun work 100% like the day it left the factory. The action on this Uplander Special is smooth, tight, and precise. It locks into battery perfectly and the trigger is quite good, breaking with a light pull without any slop or grit. This Browning comes complete with the original box complete with the serial numbered end-label, the owner's manual & assorted paperwork, a total of 3 factory choke tubes, factory choke tube wrench/tool, and all of the Styrofoam inserts and packing material. If you have been looking for a classy and beautiful Browning shotgun for your collection, this scarce and minty Uplander Special BPS 16 gauge gun would be a perfect choice. It would be impossible to upgrade from this example!
