1996 Browning Citori Grade 1 Lightning O/U Shotgun in 28 Gauge ** Excellent Condition and Beautiful w/ Original Box! **

Description:
This 1996 vintage  28 Gauge Browning Citori Grade 1 Lightning Over/Under Shotgun is a real beauty and is in excellent "nearly new" condition.  It comes complete with the original box and owner's manual.  It was bought new by the original owner in 1996, fired on two or three occasions, and then put up in a safe for the last 20 plus years.  The Grade 1 Lightning Citori by Browning was introduced in 1988 and was considered by the firm their "gold standard" over & under field shotgun.  Offered in 12, 16, 20, 28, or .410 gauge in 3 different barrel lengths, the Lightning was a lighter version of their standard Citori and featured a boxlock action, vent rib barrels, auto ejectors, screw-in chokes, a single selectable trigger, and a checkered Walnut stock set with a round-knob pistol grip.  This particular example is chambered in the sought-after 28 gauge and has 26" inch long barrels.  The factory blue finish rates 98% with only some tiny handling marks and a small area of light rust on the vent rib (pictured).  The gold finish on the trigger is 97% intact, with some thinning on the right side and face of the trigger but still very attractive.  The bores are in perfect shape in both barrels and free from any pitting, dents, bulges, or imperfections of any kind.  The factory checkered Walnut stock set is also in excellent condition, free from cracks, chipping, repairs, or any significant damage.  The factory installed buttplate is in perfect shape and tight to the buttstock, with a length of pull of 14 & 3/8ths inches to the end of the buttplate.  All of the controls on this shotgun are in perfect working order and the action is still tight and perfectly "on face".  As you can see in the pictures, the action lever still sits way to the right of the upper tang which indicates this shotgun is still not even close to "broken in" and the locking block still has 99% of it's service life left.  Both automatic ejectors are strong and work perfectly.  This Browning originally came with 3 Invector choke tubes and a wrench, but 1 of the tubes and the wrench has been misplaced along the way.  The tubes that come with the shotgun are currently installed in the barrels and are "Improved Cylinder" and "Full".  As mentioned before, this Citori Lightning comes with the original factory box with an intact end-label serial numbered to the gun, the owner's manual, and the original triggerguard hangtag.  Also inside the box is the original inner box that held the extra choke tube and choke tube wrench.  If you have been looking for an attractive and classy sub-gauge shotgun for dove or quail hunting, or any other hunting or shooting sports, this Browning Citori Grade 1 Lightning would be a perfect choice.  You could carry this shotgun with pride into any dove or skeet field in the country!
