Very Rare Belgian Browning Superposed Midas Magnum 12ga/20ga Two Barrel Set both 28" Choked Full over Full Signed by J. M. Deprez and J. M. Debrus
Description:
Up for sale is an absolutely gorgeous and extremely rare Belgium Browning Midas Grade Superposed factory chambered for 3 inch magnum shells! Of all the configurations the Magnum was the least produced for the higher grade guns. Based on the production table in the Superposed book only 27 Midas Magnums were made from 1964-1969, which means they only produced about 4 or 5 a year! If you extrapolate that for all of the years the Midas was available (1959-1976) there would only be 72-90 guns produced in this configuration. I would argue that is also on the high side considering 1959 was not a full production year for the Midas, on top of that 1967-1971 produced guns have the high potential for salt wood. This gun being produced in 1972 and having the long tang trigger guard (no hard proof that this is a non-salt indicator but tons of anectdotal evidence and word of mouth confirmation from other collectors) is very safe from any salt wood issues.
The engraving and wood on this gun are what you would expect from Browning during this period, the birds and scene work are quite exceptional with great shape and shading! The wood is very nicely figured with gold brown feather crotch walnut, hand checkering with Midas tail, and very clear high gloss finish!
Condition is nothing short of PRISTINE. I do not use that word lightly....this gun looks untouched and unfired from the factory in every way! Still has some factory grease on the internals. Factory case is also excellent and includes the manual and original warranty card as well! You will not be able to find a better condition or looking example.
Vintage firearms are a passion of mine. I am more than happy to provide any insight or info that I can regarding vintage Brownings or any other collectible firearms. Do not hesitate to call/text me at 402-314-2729 even if it is not about the gun I have for sale! Love talking with people who have an appreciation for them, sharing my knowledge, and learning more when I can. Lots of dishonest sellers out there, be careful when collecting or investing.
I provide a 5 day inspection period to ensure you are happy with everything and that I was accurate in my description and photographs. I hope to find good homes where these collectible pieces will be appreciated and enjoyed.
Shipping is a flat $100 to lower 48 (PRIORITY MAIL, INSURED FOR THE VALUE OF THE GUN). It will be well packaged and cared for.
