**SOLD**Browning Auto 5 Light Twelve Semi Auto Shotgun in 12 Gauge **Fixed Modified Choke - Belgium Made - Mfg 1960**
Description: For consideration is a nice ca 1960 Belgian made Browning Auto 5 Light Twelve semi auto shotgun in 12 gauge. The Browning Automatic 5, most often Auto-5 or simply A-5, is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun designed by John Browning and manufactured by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal. It was the first successful semi-automatic shotgun design, and remained in production until 1998. The name of the shotgun designates that it is an autoloader with a capacity of five rounds, four in the magazine and one in the chamber. Remington Arms and Savage Arms sold variants called the Remington Model 11 and Savage Model 720 that were nearly identical but lacked the magazine cutoff found on the Browning. This particular gun has some honest wear mostly on the bottom of the wrist of the stock and on the lower tang. It appears that the gun saw some time in the field and was carried with a gloved hand in that area. The 28 inch barrel has a good bore, vent rib, 2 3/4" chamber and is choked fixed modified. The front sight is a brass bead. There is some high edge wear on some of the metal components. The gun has some scrollwork on metal components but is not overly embellished. The buttpad is of a hard rubber with the stylized FN Browning script and logo typical of the period. This fine Browning with it's vent rib, 28" barrel and fixed modified choke would make an excellent field gun.
