1960's Vintage Pietro Beretta 20g Silver Snipe O/U Shotgun.
The Silver Snipe is a non-ejector version over/under made just after the second world war by Beretta between 1955 – 1967, it is trigger plate action with a steel action body, a gray finish, and no engraving with just the maker’s name, trade mark, model and gauge. Automatic safety and single non-selective trigger.
with 26” “ribless” barrels, having only a small matted rib over the mono-block and small ramp at the muzzles with a silver bead. The side ribs are machine matted. The barrels have 2 ¾" chambers and “XIX” Italian date code for 1963.
The walnut stock has a full pistol grip, a scalloped hard rubber grip cap, and 14 ¼" LOP over the factory hard rubber butt plate. Slim field type forend.
The gun weighs a lively 5 lbs. 10 oz. and is a pleasure to handle.
The gun remains in remarkably good condition showing little to no sign of being shot much. The stock shows a few handling marks here or there but retains its orginal oil finish.
The barrels and receiver’s condition is consistent with the rest of the gun with perfect bores and tight on face.
This a great gun for the money and in excellent condition despite its 60 plus years of age.
