Rare Beretta 12 gauge S2, Built 1941
Description: A handsome double trigger Beretta S2, built 1941. The barrels are 25" with 2 3/4" chambers and excellent bores, choked .005/.020 (about skeet/modified). Has been proofed in England, and is lightly stamped NOT ENGLISH MAKE. The gun locks up tight as new, and the ejectors are strong and in time. There are gold-inlaid cocking indicators, and a gold-inlaid dove or pigeon on the top-lever. The receiver features best bouquet and scroll engraving. The safety is not automatic (i.e. is reset manually after opening and closing the action.) The checkering is ultra fine. The fore-end has two small cracks; one north and one south of the release lever. The butt-stock has a story to tell, as it is a mosaic (quite well done) of three pieces (see photos.) The stock measures 1 5/8" x 2" x 14 7/8" over a Beretta hard butt-plate. There is slight cast off. The weight is 6 lbs 7 oz. A high quality early Beretta. SOLD Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge |
