Description:
Early WC Scott 10 gauge Breech loader made in 1868. The first WC Scott breech loader was produced in 1865. This 10 gauge is in  excellent condition with original finishes. Engraving is sharp and well executed. Lock work is of the highest quality with the bridle exhibiting good case color and main springs and sear springs polished to a mirror finish. Rebounding hammers. This gun is fully functional and tight. Screw slots are perfectly timed. Chambers measure 2 7/8". Bores are good with some pitting as expected for a gun of that age. I would rate the barrels 6 1/2 on a 1 to 10 scale. Barrels are 30" and ring nicely with ribs tight. Wood is well figured. Wood to metal fit is excellent. Weight is 8 LBS 7 3/4 OZ. LOP is 13 7/8". Drop at comb - 1 3/4". Drop at heel -2 5/8". Shipping is $75. As an antique this can be shipped directly as local law allows.
