JAMES HASLETT Gold Accented DOUBLE BARREL Side x Side FLINTLOCK Shotgun BALTIMORE MADE 200 Year Old Shotgun with Carved Stock!
Description: JAMES HASLETT Gold Accented DOUBLE BARREL Side x Side FLINTLOCK Shotgun BALTIMORE MADE 200 Year Old Shotgun with Carved Stock! Here we present an antique James Haslett Flintlock Double Barrel Shotgun, made circa 1803-1833 in Baltimore, Maryland. Haslett was born in 1773 in Ireland and apprenticed in the gunmaking business in Europe prior to moving to America in 1798 and settling in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He started out working in Robert McCormick’s arms factory before moving to Baltimore in June of 1803 and opened his own business. During the War of 1812 he was instrumental not making, but in purchasing, weapons for the state while serving as a major of the 11th Brigade, Maryland Militia. In later years he retired to his estate at Drum Point, Calvert County, where he died on August 15, 1833. The overall condition is good. The actions are strong. The bore is smooth and gray. There are a few cracks/scratches on the stock but remains stable. “HASLETT” is golden inlaid on both locks. “BALTIMORE” is also inlaid with gold atop the barrel. The bottoms of the barrels have eagle head proofs and "HASLETT." A rare opportunity to own an early American flintlock shotgun from Baltimore! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrels are 33-1/2 inches. Gauge: 16 Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2985 #20356 SOLD Antique: Yes |
