Henry Nock Flintlock Double Barrel Fowler

Sold...Harold...A fine antique Henry Nock Flintlock Double Barrel Fowler circa 1799-1800. Beautiful bores and outstanding barrels inside and out, beautiful Damascus swirl from breech to the muzzles. The inside of the barrels look amazing, bores and clean and bright with no corrosion...looks amazing for 220 years old...gun weighs 5lbs 12 1/2 ozs...no dents, no corrosion and no repairs! Bores measure about .630 and .640... Barrels measure 28 1/2 inches, fine silver front sight with the original ramrod made of ebony with the original brass covered barrel screw. The original stock is in nice condition with some repairs that were expertly done on top behind the locks. The flintlocks are excellent and original having H. Nock in gold and having "H. Nock London Gun Maker to his Majesty" engraved on the rib. Double gold bands on the breech and original engraving is superb! The locks work perfectly as they were new! Original steel butt plate with original engraved screws. The bottom metal is in excellent shape, trigger guard and pineapple engraving. The ramrod pipes are excellent too. This fowler had excellent constuction, between the stock and the barrels there is nothing that is loose...rock solid all Ithe way like it was made yesterday! This is a well balanced fowler and nicely preserved by one of the finest gunmakers in the world...Henry Nock!!! A beautiful solid oak hard case was made, lined with green felt for the Nock Fowler. It includes...a nice antique powder flask...a super antique shot bag....and a powder measure. It has a perfect copy of Henry Nock label in the inside top. USPS priority mail is 80.00
