ALEX HENRY 10 bore hammergun no. 5988 was completed on 19th April 1886 for H.J. Upham. According to Donald Dallas and original factory records it was listed as a “BEST GUN”. The action was built by Samuel B Allport in Birmingham (who built most of the actions for Henry shotguns according to Dallas).
Great condition with much remaining case color. Barrels were recently rebrowned by Dan Morgan, VT. Best damascus barrels in very good condition. Bores with no pitting or dents. Interesting provenance.
Fantastic full coverage engraving sharp and clean. Screws excellent. See pics! Action tight and original. 8lb 14 oz. 31” barrels. 14-1/4” LOP. Wood as found w nice figure but several dings.
